Illustration
Illustration sits at the core of my practice and feeds into both my design and motion work. I use drawing as a way to explore ideas, develop visual concepts, and create assets. From early sketches through to final artwork, illustration helps shape the look and tone of every project I work on.
Design
My graphic design work focuses on creating clear, thoughtful visuals. Whether I’m designing for motion projects, laying out a leaflet, or creating static assets, I approach design with the same attention to hierarchy, composition, and storytelling. I enjoy building systems and visuals that work just as well on their own as they do alongside motion.
Motion design is where my illustration and design skills join together, and things come to life. From concept development and storyboards, through to final animation, I’m often involved throughout the whole process, using motion as a tool to enhance ideas rather than distracting from them.

I’m Carla!
I’ve always been creative. Growing up, I could spend hours painting and drawing, which naturally led me to explore illustration, design, and eventually motion.
I grew up in Sheffield and studied Animation at Leeds Arts University, somehow managing to bring my ever-growing collection of house plants along for the journey.
For over seven years, I’ve worked as a multidisciplinary creative, collaborating across a wide range of projects and disciplines. While my background is rooted in motion design, my practice extends far beyond animation. I regularly create illustrations and designs from the ground up, and love being involved at every stage of the process, from early ideas and visual development through to finished design and motion.
When I’m away from the screen, you’ll usually find me trying to convince bugs not to eat my house plants, crocheting blankets that are too small to be called blankets, or catering to the many demands of my furry companion, Bilbo, who is deceptively smart for a dog who regularly walks face-first into wheely bins.
